Behind the scenes of Villa Lucero’s cattle count

We have just wrapped up our annual cattle count at our 9,000-hectare farm Villa Lucero, an indispensable tradition, and an important time for us to assess our herd's health and growth.

Despite the size of our cattle operation - 4,000 to 5,000 depending on the time of year - every head is carefully rounded up, accounted for, and checked, a process that demands considerable time and manpower. It is a no-nonsense affair - long days in the saddle and meticulous record-keeping.
