El Castillo water distribution project moving full steam ahead
We are delighted to share a progress update on the El Castillo water distribution project initiated on 24 January.
Progress to date - Over the past month, our team has steadily buried 13,512 metres of piping – ¾ of the total - with 4,414 metres still waiting to go into the ground.
Next steps - Following our planned rollout, we will connect the pipes and supply water to different sections this week. If the weather cooperates, we’ll begin with the 90mm line towards the west and finish that section before moving on to the rest of the pipeline assembly and burial.
Staying on track despite the weather - The weather affects our pace. We are confident we can keep on track but are prepared to adjust our plans as needed.
Target completion - If everything stays on schedule, we expect to complete the project between mid and late March.
What can we see on site? - The most visible change is a network of lines across the field, the first step of our work before we see hydrants coming online and water flowing. From Wednesday onwards, we will revisit the site next week to monitor progress.
Thank you to everyone working hard to make this important project happen:
