Portugal’s National Rugby Team, “Os Lobos,” faced South Africa’s formidable Springboks this Saturday in Bloemfontein before a crowd of over 42,000 spectators.
Despite the challenging match and a final score of 64-21, they made their mark by scoring three tries against the world’s top-ranked team. What does that have to do with The Land Group? More than meets the eye. Manuel Cardoso Pinto, who oversees our business development and marketing, is also a dedicated rugby player. When he’s not scoring tries against teams like Namibia’s national team or the Springboks, he’s driving growth at The Land Group.
Manuel has been playing rugby for the Portuguese Rugby Federation since 2012. He was a standout player for the Portuguese National Rugby Team during the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France and has the 2027 World Cup firmly in his sights. Before joining us this year, Manuel led design and marketing at Pickles Caps, an online hat company he co-founded in 2020.
Concurrently, he played professional rugby for Racing Club Narbonnais in France. Manuel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Publicity and Marketing from Escola Superior de Comunicação Social in Lisbon and completed a specialization in Motion Design, 3D, and VFX at World Academy Portugal. Manuel speaks fluent English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
